The Burgers of UNBURGER

UNBURGER at Stradbrook

Saturdays should be fun days. With that in mind, me and the wife decided to go for a bite at one of the things we haven't had in quite a while.... a good meaty burger. So we went to the Osborne Village to go and try this place suggested to us by Collin (thanks buddy!!!) called UNBURGER.

The place is quite cozy and reminiscent of the burger joints we used to go to way back in Manila (Bite Club anyone?). Instead of getting numbers for your orders, you get a toy to indicate what you ordered.... we got Fiona hehehehehe. And instead of the conventional pop in plastic bottles, they have the old school pops in actual glass bottles.

The menu boasts a wide array of burgers with interesting names and combinations like the "Drunken Aussie" - Pineapple, Omega 3 eggs sunny-side up, beets, double-smoked bacon, Bothwell cheddar, green leaf and Herb Mayo.

I had "The Donald" (a combination of black currant shiraz reduction, truffle aioli, omega 3 egg, sautéed mushrooms, balsamic onions, Bothwell cheddar, green leaf and tomato) and Anna got the "Delicious'N'Tasty Cheddar" (Bothwell cheddar, green leaf, tomato and Herb Mayo) all served on their signature bun and a side of their freshly cut potato fries.

You have the option to "Arnold-size" with two patties for and additional CAD 2.50 or make it "Bison" for CAD 2.75. The burgers tasted good, not your garden variety burgers, and are supposedly healthy gourmet burgers. Price is a little bit steep but they are worth it.

The place is nice, cozy and very hip. There is pay-parking area in front of the place and the location is very good. Overall, I highly recommend UNBURGER for the adventurous gourmet or if you just want a good piece of Un-Burger.
